What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I worked on a cattle ranch in rural Nebraska!
Where did you grow up?
Weatherford, Texas
Growing up, what did you want to be?
I’ve always been interested in helping others. I wanted to be everything from a police officer to an Ag teacher.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
I like to visit local coffee shops. I have different places for different moods!
What is Dallas-Fort Worth’s best-kept secret?
Speaking for Fort Worth — it is on the cusp of being the greatest city in the country. I compare it to late 90’s Austin. We are establishing a culture with food, music and nightlife. Coupled with commerce, this town will be unstoppable.
What do you love most about the industry?
Helping others identify then hit their goals. While I primarily focus on farm and ranch sales I LOVE working with new home buyers.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I want to do a LOT of work on the front end of a deal. I want to meet face to face first, buyers and sellers alike. I don’t want our first meeting to be at the gate.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
It’s so situational. Most of the time the most difficult is telling a client that there’s something that is a “run away” item.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Engage with others. We used to do this all the time but as a society we’ve gotten away from it. Most still love the interaction.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
I have toddlers — I’m very up to speed with “Gabby’s Dollhouse.” And the DJ feature on Spotify is incredible.
What’s your favorite meal in Dallas-Fort Worth?
A double meat FOBB from Kincaid’s on the bricks.
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Dallas-Fort Worth?
Oddly enough I’ve always loved the Forest Park Tower!
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
As a brand new agent I walked into what I thought was a vacant duplex. I was met by someone taller than me — I’m 6’3″. Thankfully he was as freaked out as I was and we just laughed. The house smelled of burnt marijuana.
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
While I seem to be outgoing I am fairly shy and have to practice being a “people person.”
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Favorite to date is probably St. Thomas. It was our first family vacation and it was just a great get away!
What is your favorite city after Dallas-Fort Worth?
Bryan/College Station, Texas
In 10 words or less, what is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Stay far from your comfort zone.
What’s your favorite real estate iPhone/Android app?
LandID or email!
