What’s new on Zillow? 5 features that enhance the home search experience

by Jacqui Mueller

Zillow’s Summer Launch debuts five new features to make home shopping, selling and renting easier.

Zillow has rolled out five new features this summer to make searching for homes easier and more efficient. These updates help buyers, renters and agents get better information, connect more quickly and make smarter decisions in a competitive market.

1. SkyTour: User-guided view of home’s exterior from above

The SkyTour feature gives home shoppers a drone-like, 3D view of a home’s exterior on eligible showcase listings. Using simple controls, buyers can virtually “fly” around the property to explore the layout, lot and surrounding area from their phone or computer.

SkyTour turns drone footage into a smooth, interactive experience — available when drone footage is included in Zillow’s premium Media Experts package.

2. Offer Insights: Compares how offer prices perform in today’s market

The Offer Insights tool lets home shoppers explore different offer amounts on for-sale listings to see how likely their offer is to be accepted. By combining Zestimate, recent sales and local market data, it helps buyers make more confident decisions.

For agents, it highlights serious buyers using real-time data, enabling more informed conversations about offer strategies while emphasizing the agent’s role in navigating pricing, affordability and personal factors.

3. Rental Costs & Fees Breakdown: Transparent pricing for renters

The Rental Costs & Fees Breakdown feature offers a detailed breakdown of move-in costs, monthly fees and extra charges on rental listings when provided by property managers. Renters can also use a custom calculator to get personalized cost estimates, making it easier to plan budgets, compare options and avoid unexpected expenses.

4. Tour Itineraries: Home touring

The Tour Itineraries tool helps buyers and agents easily plan and manage home tours by allowing them to create and share a list of homes to visit. Accessible through Zillow’s app and website, it keeps both parties organized with clear views of upcoming and past tours.

This feature meets the growing demand for online tools, as most buyers now prefer scheduling tours digitally.

5. BuyAbility: Gives shoppers a personalized estimate of home prices

BuyAbility, powered by Zillow Home Loans, provides home shoppers with a real-time, personalized estimate of the home price and monthly payment they can afford, along with their likelihood of loan qualification.

Buyers input their financial details to receive a suggested price cap and loan estimate. Listings on Zillow are labeled to show if they fit within a shopper’s BuyAbility. It also helps buyers compare homes against both their target monthly payment and maximum budget.
