What history tells us about today’s interest rates

If your buyer is having a hard time moving on from 2021 and accepting the reality of today’s rates, a history lesson may help. The 7.84% rate in late February for a 30-year mortgage is lower than the average rate during much of the 1970s and 1980s. Any rate in the sixes is in the range of what buyers saw during most of the 1990s and 2000s.
