Frisco and McKinney are the U.S. cities that have added the most housing inventory since 2005, according to a report from StorageCafe.
Inventory in Frisco grew more than in any other city in the country, with 85,333 units available in 2023 — a 230% increase from 2005. That figure includes single-family homes as well as rental housing units.
McKinney had the second-most growth in the nation — its inventory grew by 127% from 2005 to 2023, with 78,996 housing units available.
Also on the list at No. 9 nationwide was Allen, which had 40,608 housing units on the market in 2023, a 76% increase from 2005.
Other Dallas-area cities in the top 50 nationwide were No. 13 Denton, where inventory grew 66%; No. 29 Fort Worth, up 56%; and No. 30 Lewisville, up 55%.
