Plano is the No. 3 city in the United States to raise a family, according to a ranking from WalletHub.
The finance website analyzed 182 of the most-populated U.S. cities based on family fun, health and safety, education and childcare, affordability and socioeconomics, and ranked Plano among the top cities in the country.
In addition to a low crime rates and low traffic fatality rates, the Dallas-area suburb offers good options for childhood education, with over 55% of local schools having at least a seven out of 10 ranking and the fifth-highest high school graduation rate in the country. Plano’s ranking was also boosted by its low divorce rate and high share of two-parent families.
That means that while it’s not necessarily an affordable city to live in, families with children may be willing to pay the price.
