Andrew Bradshaw Real Estate Agent

Coldwell Banker Apex | Allen office

What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Managing the Wynn and Encore in Las Vegas, or owning my own restaurant in Los Angeles.

Where did you grow up?
Oregon

Growing up, what did you want to be?
Retired. No sarcasm. I was a very gifted student but I always knew I wanted to be in control of my own time.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Play basketball or work out.

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
I’d love to meet Leonardo Da Vinci, to understand someone so creative and so multi-talented.

What is Dallas-Fort Worth’s best-kept secret?
The people. For all the influx of people migrating here people are generally nice and kind. On the whole the communities here are great.

What do you love most about the industry?
I don’t really love the industry as I find a lot of people aren’t professional. What I love about the job is, when done well, it’s as close as I’ll ever be to a delivery room doctor or ER nurse. I’m with people for a short important moment of time in their life. Big impact on a journey that often times has a lot of joy in it.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I am process based and not sales based. I love complicated situations. For example, I helped a father-and-son dentist referral take the 1031 proceeds from a sale in the Bay Area in California and time a new build to close at 90% completion to not break the 1031 chain, and collaborated with an agent in Oregon to do a simultaneous transaction.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
It’s the balancing act of all the small intricate details, from paperwork to follow up. The busy work is really suffocating at times.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
There are layers to this, but in general you have to find something that you can be authentic with, and you have to commit yourself to being excellent at it. Open houses, cold calling, buy side, new builds. Many new realtors focus on grabbing attention via social media but trust building requires understanding your craft, like any service businesses.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
“Landman.”

What’s your favorite meal in Dallas-Fort Worth?
The salmon at Kenny’s Woodfire Grill. It’s go-to comfort.

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Dallas-Fort Worth?
I like the homes that sit on the lake in Castle Hills’ Enchanted Hill. I’m drawn to residential architecture.

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
I’ve had what I assume were teens try to book $4 to $5 million dollar house tours while on social media and convince me they were billionaires.

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I’m an introvert and have to work up the courage to be around big groups. And I was a self-taught state champion in speech and debate in high school.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
I love going home. Home to me is the Pacific North West, Seattle and parts of Oregon.

What is your favorite city after Dallas-Fort Worth?
Bellevue, east of Seattle. Inside the state of Texas, I’d say Frisco.

What is your advice for someone new to the industry?
Take the road less traveled. The hard path is worth it.
