Mixed-use development approved at McKinney cotton mill

by Emily Marek

Presidium received approval from the city of McKinney to revamp a North Dallas cotton mill, originally constructed in 1910, for mixed-use development.

Plans for the project include 200,000 square feet of office space and 1.2 million square feet of multifamily residential space spread across four buildings. Approximately 1,200 apartment units will be delivered within the next six years.

Additionally, Presidium will construct 27 townhome-style artist/workspace lofts for rent.

On-site amenities will include a beach entry pool, fitness centers, coworking spaces, grilling stations, game rooms and lounge areas.

The development is projected to have an economic impact of $933 million on the area and a tax revenue generation of $38 million for McKinney.
