What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
Recruiting and development for Northwestern Mutual

Where did you grow up?
Oklahoma

Growing up, what did you want to be?
A political consultant. I studied public relations and political science in college.

What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Fresh air and exercise

If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Benjamin Franklin. He was full of ideas, made mistakes, never stopped learning and left lasting impacts.

What is Dallas-Fort Worth’s best-kept secret?
Peaceful neighborhoods where families and neighbors chat over coffee while children play and laugh. In the business and the bustle, people overlook the hidden gem — the neighborhoods and their people.

What do you love most about the industry?
Helping others fulfill their vision.

How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
Relationship building. Relationships are the currency of life, and I value the people in the process.

What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
Meeting of minds. Buyers, sellers, lenders, appraisers … the difficult aspect is finding a middle ground among all parties.

What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Connect local.

What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
“Theo of Golden.” I’ve been reading the book and it’s inspiring and surprising.

What’s your favorite meal in Dallas-Fort Worth?
La Hacienda Ranch. Fajitas, Dad’s Chili, queso…

Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Dallas-Fort Worth?
Reunion Tower — at night, lit up!

What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
Locked out, in the rain. Sometimes it just doesn’t go your way!

What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I’ll do almost anything around the house myself if I am capable — mow the lawn, fix a garage door, lay sod, etc.

What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
White Sand Beaches in Aruba

What is your favorite city after Dallas-Fort Worth?
Small towns — local coffee shops, cute diners, main street shops and people who know each other and look out for one another.

Know yourself and know your audience.
