Working as a bank teller during her high school and college years, Kristin Dail had an early introduction to the financial world. After graduation, when Dail was planning to start a sales position, her bank president introduced her to mortgage lending. “I took a chance, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made,” she remembers. “What started as an unexpected pivot became a long-term passion, and I am grateful to still be in this industry 20 years later.”
A senior vice president of mortgage lending with Rate, Dail has a team with a deep understanding of underwriting, allowing them to structure complex files that many lenders avoid. “I offer extremely fast turn times, strong local market knowledge and strategies,” she says. “This helps buyers win in competitive offer situations, giving my clients a clear advantage.”
A member of Rate’s President’s Club and Chairman’s Circle, Dail was named as a Top 1% Mortgage Originator by the Scotsman Guide from 2020 to 2025 and as best mortgage professional by D Magazine for multiple years. The co-chair of GROW — a women’s empowerment initiative at Rate focused on mentorship, leadership and professional development — she also serves on the Armstrong-Bradfield Preschool Association and Highland Park Presbyterian Day School Parent Council. “I’ve built my business on relationships, results and consistency,” she shares. “I believe in creating a business and a life that my daughters can look up to and that purpose guides everything I do.”
In her free time, Dail enjoys spending time with her husband, Erik, and two young daughters, Parker and Dylan. She also loves playing mahjong with friends.
