What was your most interesting job before going into real estate?
I was a broker and registered investment advisor for Alex. Brown, a 200-year-old investment bank.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Dallas then grew up in Houston.
Growing up, what did you want to be?
A professional on Wall Street.
What do you do to relax when you’re stressed?
Yoga and spend time with friends.
If you could meet any well-known figure (living or not), who would it be and why?
Kate Hudson, because I love her movies and books!
What is Dallas-Fort Worth’s best-kept secret?
One of my favorites is the Conservatory’s Teak Tearoom in Highland Park Village, where you can enjoy lunch and look out to the Dallas Country Club golf course. My grandparents spent a lot of time at the course, so I have fond memories there.
What do you love most about the industry?
Serving my clients is hands down the winner. Whether I am getting their home ready, finding a property that they love, or in the negotiating process, I love getting to help them through their real estate journey.
How do you distinguish yourself from the crowd of agents?
I personally focus on maintaining professionalism, growing in knowledge and always caring for people.
What is the most difficult aspect of your job?
It can involve a lot of moving parts and manpower to make a property shine to the last detail. This is the work that pays off to deliver to the market, and has added value to my owners. It is a personal delivery of my brand that I commit to when listing a property for sale.
What’s your best advice for generating new leads?
Be intentional in authentically connecting with others, and in reaching out to new people.
What are you binge-watching/reading/listening to lately?
Some of my current favorites are “Zero Day” and “To Catch a Killer,” which are both on Netflix.
What’s your favorite meal in Dallas-Fort Worth?
Fish at the Mansion on Turtle Creek
Architecturally speaking, what is your favorite building in Dallas-Fort Worth?
The Crescent has always been a favorite! Also, anything I.M. Pei, including the Dallas City Hall, Fountain Place, Dallas Symphony Hall, and of course, Travis Walk for the open areas that make me feel grateful to work in the Douglas Elliman office there.
What’s the weirdest thing that’s ever happened to you on the job?
One of my clients moved from his property but left all of his personal belongings behind. In order to get the home ready for the new owners, I had to find someone last minute to help me move everything out. We ended up working super late that night, but we got the job done!
What’s one thing people are surprised to learn about you?
I have a personal real estate connection to the Dallas Love Field Airport with my family having previously owned land where the Parking Spot is now today.
What is your favorite vacation spot and why?
Aspen. Hiking on the Smuggler Mountain and the cold weather make me happy!
What is your favorite city after Dallas-Fort Worth?
Los Angeles and New York
