DFW home sales keep pace with year-ago levels as median home price ticks up

The median home price ticked up 1.3% to $400,000, with the largest market share made up of homes priced below that median (via MetroTex Association of REALTORS®).

Home sales were steady in Dallas-Fort Worth in May, according to the latest Housing Report from the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®.

Buyers purchased 9,233 homes during the month, a 0.5% annual increase.

Meanwhile, the median home price ticked up 1.3% to $400,000. The largest market share — 26.1% — was made up of homes priced below the median (between $300,000 and $399,999).

Active listings declined 3.2% year over year, with 34,220 total homes on the market in May. Given the rate of sales, Dallas-Fort Worth had a 4.4-month inventory, down from 4.7 months in May 2025.
