Closed sales, active listings fall in the Metroplex

The median home price in Dallas-Fort Worth increased 0.7% year over year to $389,000 in August. (via MetroTex Association of REALTORS®)

Closed home sales and active listings decreased in Dallas-Fort Worth in August, according to the latest Housing Report from the MetroTex Association of REALTORS®.

Buyers purchased 7,760 homes during the month, down 5.5% year over year. Meanwhile, active listings decreased 5.7% year over year, with 34,191 homes on the market.

The median home price increased 0.7% year over year to $389,000. The typical home sold in 90 days — unchanged from last August.

Given the rate of sales, the Metroplex had a 4.4-month inventory, down from 4.7 months in August 2025.
